All they're going to do is refer you back to their publications on the issue. It hardly matters whether those books cover your specific points or not. -

EXACTLY Why JW's Are NOT Christian
by Perry ina lot of people, ex-jws, believers and unbelievers alike, think that jw's are just a somewhat kooky brand of christianity.
is it possible to "try and follow jesus" and not be christian?
what exactly makes someone a christian?
-
Village Idiot
So Perry, do you believe that Catholicism is Christian? There's more of them than JWs and Mormons combined.

GodZoo:
"9. GMOs do not increase yields, and work against feeding a hungry world."
It's irrelevant whether they increase yields per acre since the greater a yield you have the more fertilizer you need. Synthetic fertilizer by the way is made from natural gas which isn't going to be sustainable.
As for the "hungry world" there will always be a food shortage because of population increase. Increasing yields will only provide a temporary band-aid solution. There is a law of diminishing returns in everything and that would include yields.

I really don't know what to make of their financial issues but it would be nice if someone could afford an investigator to look into it. -

Elder gossip
by Jumongi ini'll try to keep this short.
my experience at the hall is elders not really engaging in friendship building communication with anyone.
the only time they really communicate with you is to counsel you or tell you where you need to make adjustments.

I know that I must be the gossip of many JWs but I don't know what they're saying because I have no relatives or friends in there that speak to me. Lucky me. -

The problem with water on Mars is that the atmosphere is too cold to sustain it in liquid form. Ice, yes but liquid water is more problematic. I read that the water is likely to be brine - salt water - which is more resistant to freezing. Fresh water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit; Earth's ocean water freezes at 28.4 F because of the salt in it. The more salt the lower the freezing temperature.
This would be important on Mars since the temperatures there are often time below freezing except at the equator during the day. Any organism in that water would have to be tough in order to go through a daily freeze melt cycle.

OneEyedJoe:
"This is a very different argument - now it seems that you're suggesting that Monsanto should fall under some sort of anti-trust action. From what little I know, this seems reasonable."
I haven't figured out exactly what the official position from government should be but I would consider anti-trust action to be an option.
"Your original statement, however, was an argument essentially stating that GMO R&D was an endeavor that did not deserve to be profitable in and of itself."
That's not what I meant. Less profit yes, but that's because I'm against profiteering not profit itself.
